LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Freshman midfielder Meghan McGrath
(Vernon,NJ/Vernon H.S.)scored a goal and
assisted on the other Slippery Rock University goal to lead The
Rock to a 2-2 double-overtime tie Saturday afternoon with hosting
Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
women’s soccer action.
The tie kept The Rock unbeaten; SRU is now 4-0-1 overall and 2-0-1
in PSAC play. Lock Haven moves to 2-5-1, 0-2-1.
The Rock outshot Lock Haven by a 25-10 margin with Rock sophomore
goalie Amanda Weir (Bethlehem, PA /Fairfield,
CT) recording
five saves.
Junior forward Sarah Arsenault (Rome, NY/Rome Free
Academy)scored The Rock’s first goal of the game and
her seventh of the season off an assist from McGrath in the
23rd minute of the game.
,br>McGrath scored her sixth goal of the season, an unassisted
tally, to put SRU up, 2-0, at halftime.
Lock Haven scored two second-half goals to send the game into
overtime.
The Rock returns to action on Wednesday when it will host
non-conference rival St. Vincent at 4 p.m. on James Egli Field.
