br>SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University dropped a
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division volleyball
match to visiting Lock Haven University by a 3-0 margin Tuesday
night.
The division-leading Bald Eagles scored 30-19, 30-19 and 30-21 game
wins to improve to 10- overall, 3-0 in PSAC-West action.
The loss was the third straight suffered by The Rock and gave SRU a
5-5 overall mark and an 0-3 conference record.
Senior outside hitter Jen Howser (Grafton, OH/Elyria
HS) had 10 kills and 11 digs for The Rock, while sophomore
outside hitter Lindsay Weber (Pittsburgh/Fox Chapel
HS) added six kills and five digs.
Freshman setter Sarah Kirsch (Northern Cambria/Northern
Cambria HS) had 15 assists and three kills, junior
defensive specialist/setter Cori Harte (East Rochester,
NH/Spaulding HS) had 11 assists and senior defensive
specialist Rae El Johnson (Port Allegany/Port Allegany
HS) had three service aces and a team-high 19 digs.
The Rock returns to action on Friday when it will take on
Millersville in a 7 p.m. PSAC “crossover” game at East
Stroudsburg University. SRU will meet Cheyney and East Stroudsburg
on Saturday before returning home to host PSAC-West rival Clarion
next Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. in Morrow Field House.
